a personal note

Let me start by saying that It has been a pretty odd seven months. Back in August I got over the premature breakup of the noise rock band I was trying to make. I ended up focusing more on Monogrim with Eric. That month we, as a duo, got to open for the one time legendary, Pentagram. We had a blast playing at the show even though like 10 people showed up for each slot. I loved getting to meet the other bands at the show even if my hero at the time, Bobby Liebling of Pentagram wasn’t so inviting. I’m guessing he was pissed that people weren’t falling for his middle aged Axl Rose impression.

After that show Eric left for college again, we parted our gear once again and I ended up locking myself in my house for a few months of reflection. I ended up relearning guitar, drums and bass since I was so unhappy with our previous recording work. In that time I built up some new ideas and started building on the home studio.

Thanksgiving break came around and Monogrim became the top priority again as some of our favorite local bands were finally getting off their feet. We ended up planning for a return in December. We didn’t end up doing much that month but talking about the future and spending much needed time with family. We talked about building from the ground up and reemerging in the local scene. This was brought up about 2 months ago, the last time I saw Eric in person.

Since then I’ve been setting up my home studio little by little.

Right now I’m working on new music with I Worship the Monolith which will I’ll be talking about for the next couple of months. A new Monogrim release is on my mind right now but not yet in the works.

hello again

This Sunday we’re opening for the latest incarnation of legendary doom band, Pentagram. To celebrate, we’re recording a special demo dedicated to the event and locals coming out to the show. This demo has Eric on all guitars/manipulation/vocals and myself on drums/vocals.
